Diane Young has been appointed STEM Council co-chair to serve alongside Governor Reynolds.
Governor Kim Reynolds appointed Foundation Analytical Laboratory Owner and Director of Technical Services, Diane Young, to serve as the next STEM Council co-chair, succeeding Accumold CEO and president Roger Hargens.

The twenty-second convening of the STEM Advisory Council was held at the Iowa State University (ISU) Student Innovation Center on April 29. STEM Council Vision Sharpened in 2020

The STEM Advisory Council met in January 2020 to define priorities for the years to come.

January 31, 2020, the Governor’s STEM Advisory Council set about defining a course for the years to come. Strategizing commenced with small group discussions as to top priorities on the horizon. Over thirty imperatives were brought forth to be voted on, the highest frequency few to be advanced to action-planning. STEM Council Strategic Planning Charts Future Course

STEM Advisory Council members launched five working groups to make recommendations that will shape the future of STEM in Iowa.
Members of the STEM Advisory Council alongside academic, business, public policy and nonprofit leaders and passionate volunteers took part in a six-month quest to chart the course of STEM in Iowa.

Gov. Kim Reynolds recently appointed six new members to the Governor’s STEM Advisory Council.
Six Iowa leaders recently joined the STEM Advisory Council, appointed by Gov. Kim Reynolds. The STEM Council is comprised of representatives from all over the state, including leaders in higher education and business, Pre-K through 12 formal and informal educators, nonprofit leaders, as well as state and local government officials.

With a mission of helping people connect to career goals and achieve financial stability, the Evelyn K. Davis Center for Working Families set the stage for the 21st convening of the Governor’s STEM Advisory Council. The meeting primarily focused on sustainability and expansion of work-based learning.

The Iowa Governor’s STEM Advisory Council is comprised of 50 members throughout Iowa, including leaders in education, business and industry, nonprofits and state and local government officials. This body of individuals helps guide the overall direction of the STEM Council to increase student interest, enhance engagement and improve STEM achievement in Iowa.
